The Rochester West Indian Festival Organization, Inc. (RWIFO, Inc) was founded in 1984 to preserve cultural heritage among Caribbean people, their descendents, and to share this heritage with our community. We are a non-for-profit organization with a 501(C) (3) status and have always relied on the generous support of the Rochester community and various corporations to accomplish our goals. One of our goals is to build a stronger, wiser, and successful community: culturally, socially, and financially. Our primary focus is still the educational and mental success of our young people. We continue to demonstrate our successes by awarding scholarships to graduating college-bound seniors, and building self-esteem in our young adults through our annual Cultural Queen Pageant. To date, we have dedicated over $81,700 of our scholarship fund to the most academically deserving of our youth. The organization plans to continue its contributions to numerous charitable causes, hosting workshops on a variety of topics, and maintaining our presence in various community activities and events. With your support, we are able to continue our work in the community. This year, RWIFO, Inc. will be celebrating its 27th annual Caribbean festival and parade (CARIFEST 2011). This festival, which attracts thousands of festival goers, will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in the City of Rochester, New York. RWIFO, Inc. invites you to explore its sponsorship opportunities available to business organizations for 2011. Sponsors of RWIFO, Inc. are offered many intangible benefits; in particular, all donations to the organization are tax deductible, since we are a non-for-profit with a 501(C) (3) status.
